Annarose Atamian is a freelance dance performer and choreographer based in London. She began her dance training in the states, before moving to Leeds, UK, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Dance at Northern School of Contemporary Dance. This past year, she toured to the UK, Switzerland, and Italy, as a member of “VERVE,” the postgraduate company of Northern School of Contemporary Dance, performing works of Matteo Marfoglia, Joy Alpuerto Ritter and LA’HORDE. Whilst earning her Master’s, Annarose continued to develop her own practice, leading to solo improvisational performances in Leeds and New York City. Her latest project was a collaborative performance with pianist Jennifer Savage at Carnegie Hall’s Laureate Gala in Weill Hall. Annarose views dance as a medium to process life experience. This feeding of life into the body and moving it around generates meaning, material, art. She is interested in the implications different scores of constraint within improvisation has on the transformation of these feelings bumping around within us. She is eagerly pursuing this practice as she collaborates with international movement artists and musicians.
