Gabriel Hollander

ABOUT

Praised as a “magician of the text” (La Libre) and having a “wide and attentive gesture with real involvement” (Le Soir), the Belgian-American conductor Gabriel Hollander is known for his “boundless energy” (Klassiek Centraal), unifying community-building leadership, and empowering hope to propel the music world to reach new heights. “Bringing new and bold ideas”(Crescendo Magazine), he has held guest conductor and music director roles in some major institutions including the National Orchestra of Belgium, the National Orchestra of Hungary in Szeged, and the Ensemble Ars Nova (France). He has a track record of over 10 years of conducting experience with over 500 international public concerts. In one of his current roles as the Etesiane orchestra music director, he has successfully led over 700 musicians across 40 concerts, for large audiences of 2,000+.

Thanks to his deep love of people and music, Hollander helps musical organisations to strive in an ever-changing cultural world and being on the forefront of their communities. His perpetual curiosity in all aspects of the cultural space allows him to connect and inspire musically on the podium as well as off the podium during fundraising events, with innovative communication and marketing strategies, and through his human and project management.

Hollander is currently working on his debut CD with the Belgian music label Cypres, bridging the gap between sacred music of the past to the present. More
