Cristina Schirripa

ABOUT

Born in Milan (Italy) in 1993.  At the age of 5,  she began to study the violin at the Conservatory “G. Verdi ”of Milan with Fulvio Luciani and later at the Conservatory “ C. Pollini ”of Padua with Giovanni Angeleri, and she graduated in 2011.


After graduation, she continued to study with M° Giovanni Angeleri at the Fondazione Musicale Masiero e Centanin in Arquà Petrarca (PD). In 2019 she won a scholarship to participate at the ClassicalBridge Festival at the Lincoln Center in New York, where she studied with Shmuel Ashkenasi. She also studied in Rome with the Concertmaster of the Orchestra dell' Accademia di Santa Cecilia, M° Carlo Maria Parazzoli.


Since 2009 she has performed in duo with piano, in chamber ensembles, and as a soloist with orchestra. She collaborated as concertmaster and as soloist with the Estro Armonico String Orchestra of Padua and the Orchestra delle Venezie conducted by Giovanni Angeleri where she still plays regularly.


She also collaborated with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Chamber Orchestra. She has been awarded in several International Competitions, including the "Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition" of London in 2016, the "Golden States Music Awards International Competition" of New York in 2017, and the "United States International Music Competition" at Stanford University (CA) in 2018 and the “International Mozart Competition” of Wien in 2023. More
