David Park

ABOUT

David H Park, a soloist with extraordinary artistic gifts’, (Salt Lake Tribune) ‘that commands respect…of the highest order,’ (Le Journal Sud Ouest, DN), started playing the violin at the age of five in Seoul, Korea. Park has studied with two of the most distinguished pedagogues, Josef Gingold and Dorothy Delay, receiving his Bachelor and Master of Music at Indiana University and the Juilliard School, respectively. At the age of 14, he was one of the youngest students of the legendary Jascha Heifetz. 


Some of Park's highlights include his first return to Seoul, Korea, performing the Lalo Symphonie Espagnole with the Seoul Philharmonic. Park made his New York debut performing Vivaldi's Four Seasons in Carnegie Weill Hall. Also, making his debut at the Aix-enProvence Music Festival, his concerts were broadcast nationally by France Musique, the premier classical radio station in France. Park has presented a rare series of concerts pairing Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesu violins to critical acclaim. His debut recording with Centaur Records, David Park Plays Fritz Kreisler, chief editor of American Record Guide remarked “This is the most brilliant Kreisler recording,” and chose as the only violin album for Critic’s Choice Top 10 of 2020. Recently, Park performed concertos of Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Beethoven, Bruch, and Vivaldi Four Seasons in Los Angeles and New York, and made his anticipated London debut playing on a Stradivari from Beare’s International Violin Society. In 2022, Park was the Artist-in-Residence with Southwest Symphony and recorded the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. He will also have solo engagements in London, Luxembourg, Bordeaux, Seoul, Salt Lake City, St George, Pasadena, and Glendale. In 2023, Park was featured on the cover of the Fanfare September issue with an interview and review of his album, Passion of the Soul, which Fanfare proclaimed as “One of Centaur’s Best”. In the Fall of 2023, Park will make his recital debut at Carnegie Zankel Hall. 


A True Renaissance Man’ (Salt Lake Tribune), in 2019, Park was appointed to be the first Cultural Ambassador of Ferrari. In 2011, Park’s passion for fine wine culminated in his induction as Commander of Honor in Bordeaux, France, for one of the world’s oldest wine societies, Commanderie du Bontemps. In 2015, Park made his acting debut and also performed Massenet’s Meditation Thais and Bach’s Air for the soundtrack of The Strongest Man, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
