A native of Serbia, Milos Bjelica is a Boston-based clarinetist and educator. His work as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player has taken him to many cities across Europe and the United States. He has performed in venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Kolarac Hall in Belgrade, Music Academy in Katowice, Selmer Show Room and the Pompidou Square in Paris, Tsai Center, Boston Symphony Orchestra concert hall, and the Pickman Hall in Boston. Dedicated to making classical, jazz, world, and Serbian music available to wider audiences, Milos also steps out of the concert halls and plays in unconventional venues such as public parks, metro stations, and large city squares across the USA and Europe.


As a founding member of the Nevski Clarinet Quartet, Milos pushed the boundaries of the traditional classical music concert format, introducing elements of theater in dance in their performances across Europe. Nevski Clarinet Quartet was one of the finalists of Serbia’s Got Talent show in 2011 and it performed in festivals across Europe including the European Clarinet Festival in Hungary, the Bemus Festival in Serbia, the German-Nordic Youth Philharmonic in Germany, Fourth European Clarinet Congress in Poland, the ICA ClarinetFest Assisi in Italy, and ClarinetFest in Montenegro.


Milos is the recipient of numerous awards at national and international competitions including the Concerto and Honors competition at the Longy School of Music (2017) the Harold Wright Merit Award in Boston (2016), Concerto competition at the Boston University (2020).


In addition to his rich playing career, Milos has also been teaching clarinet for the past fourteen years, both in public and private schools, privately, as well as through summer programs in Serbia, Europe, and in the United States. At the Longy School of Music, he was heavily involved in the El Systema USA program, dedicated to effecting social change through music for children. Milos taught students from the Boston area at the Longy El Systema weekend programs Milos is a graduate of the 2019/2020 The Global Leadership program cohort, through which he worked in El Systema school in Santiago, Chile for two weeks as well. His former students won many prizes in national and international competitions. He also works as a part-time clarinet and saxophone teacher in The Maestro Musicians Academy, Dexter Southfield School, Lincoln public school, and Noteworthy Experience, a private music school. More
